Exploring Public Art for the Lawrence Heights Community Recreation & Child Care Centre
Oddside Arts is working with the City of Toronto Public Arts Division to cultivate public art processes for the new Lawrence Heights Community Recreation & Child Care Centre.
This work will manifest through building relationships with local community organisations, groups, holding public engagement events, and gathering feedback to discover public art installations that speak to the community.

Over the summer of 2024, Oddside Arts interviewed and facilitated workshops in the Lawrence Heights and Neptune neighbourhoods to o consult and collaborate with Lawrence Heights and Neptune residents on public art installations for the new Recreation and Child Care Centre. Allison Rolle
Allison Rolle (they/she) is a devoted activist, artist, and researcher. As a researcher, Allison engages with Black and Queer theoretical frameworks to ensure public policy is composed by and for the community.
Nico Taylor
Nico Taylor (she/her) is a performance artist and scholar with a Master of Arts from Concordia University on decolonial practices, feminism, cosplay subculture, and Black speculative art.
Queen Kukoyi
Queen Kukoyi (they/them) is a gender-queer, nerodivergent, multidisciplinary artist who has been serving the community for 20+ years, combating structural violence against Black and Indigenous youth.
